SQL Survival Workshop

Hands-on SQL for real industry projects – from beginner to expert

SQL Workshop – Hands-On Practice

SQL shows up constantly in industry projects. Complex queries across grown database structures, performance issues under load, clean data modeling – engineers who know SQL move faster, debug less, and avoid expensive production mistakes.

On May 5, 2026, we’re hosting a hands-on workshop at our Munich office. Using a real industry example, we’ll walk through the SQL features that matter most in a software engineer’s day-to-day work. No dry theory – you’ll solve tasks directly on your own laptop, from straightforward queries to challenges that push experienced developers. Please note: the workshop will be held in German.

Register by April 30, 2026. Spots are limited.

What to Expect

  • A real industry example – You’ll work with a database model from actual projects, not textbook exercises
  • Tasks for every level – From your first SELECT to advanced queries: beginners, intermediates, and experienced engineers all find their level
  • The SQL features that matter – Joins, subqueries, window functions, indexing, and more – the skills that come up again and again in enterprise work
  • Direct support on-site – itestra engineers are there to help when you get stuck and explain the reasoning behind solutions
  • Food and drinks provided – Just bring your laptop

What to Bring

Some familiarity with a programming language or databases is helpful but not required. If you’ve never written SQL before, the beginner tasks are your entry point. If you’ve got experience, you’ll find plenty to challenge you at the deeper end.

Bring a laptop with a working SQL environment. Setup instructions will be sent after registration.
