Hackathon Tallinn 2026
Five days, one team, real challenges from the world of software modernization – all in Tallinn. At the itestra Hackathon, you’ll work alongside other CS students on real tasks from our enterprise projects. No simulations, no lectures: you write code, analyze existing systems, and build solutions that work in practice.

What to Expect
- Real modernization projects – You’ll work on tasks taken directly from our project work: code analysis, refactoring, migration, or prototyping new solutions.
- Teamwork with itestra engineers – Our experienced software engineers work alongside you. You’ll get direct feedback and learn the methods we use with 90+ enterprise clients.
- Broad technology exposure – Depending on the task, you’ll work with Java, Python, TypeScript, or other languages – plus tools for static analysis, AI-assisted code assessment, or cloud deployment.
- Explore Tallinn – Beyond the work, there’s time to explore one of Europe’s most exciting tech cities. Evening activities and group outings are part of the program.
- Build connections – Meet other ambitious students and get to know itestra as an employer firsthand.
What You Should Bring
- Currently enrolled in a CS degree program (Bachelor or Master) or a comparable field
- Solid programming skills in at least one language (Java, Python, C#, TypeScript, or similar)
- Interest in software quality, code analysis, or modernization – prior experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to work in a team and willingness to spend five intensive days on a project
- Good English skills (working language during the hackathon)
