Docker Your Project – Hands-On Workshop Vienna

Develop, package, deliver – bring your project from code to running application.

What to Expect

Docker has become a cornerstone of modern software development. Whether you’re building a web application, working with microservices, or simply making sure your code runs the same everywhere – containerization is the answer.

In this hands-on workshop, we dive into Docker together using a real project example. You’ll learn how to develop, package, and deliver applications – not through slides and theory, but by doing it yourself from the very first minute.

The workshop is open to students at all experience levels. Tasks range from ambitious beginner challenges to genuine expert-level problems. Bring your laptop and your curiosity – we’ll take care of the food.

What You’ll Learn

We cover the most widely used Docker features through a single, continuous real-world example:

  • Dockerfiles – Write and optimize your own images
  • Volumes & Networks – Persist data and connect services to each other
  • Docker Compose – Define and run multi-container setups as a single unit
  • Debugging & Best Practices – Know the common pitfalls and how to avoid them

By the end of the day, you’ll have a working, containerized project – and a clear picture of how it all fits together.
